Volunteer Opportunities with the PTO

Take a look at our calendar page to see what events need organizers/co-organizers. We invite you to become an active member!  We want your input and all are welcome.  Help when you can, whether it is 5 minutes a month, for a single event, or to chair a committee.  Take a look at our list of events and see when you can offer to help.   If you have an idea or suggestion, please contact anyone on the Executive Board.  We would love to hear from you!  Come to a meeting or contact us about the ways you would like to contribute.

1. Volunteer Recruitment - Can you help to promote the PTO?  Can your reach out and recruiting volunteers to join in actively to participate within the organization?  Please contact us if you can help in any way.

2. Event Planning - Do you have excellent inter-personal skills? Love a party? We need you!Volunteer to together planning and implement fun events and enrichment programming.  If you have time to offer, we need hands to help with promotion, setup, cleanup, and transporting items to the events.

  • Ice Cream Social
  • Art nights at both schools (winter/early spring)
  • Open House Events at both schools (Prior to start of school)
  • Restock Contest (We make a competition between classrooms for the most donations of essential classroom supplies, pencils, tissues, etc)
  • Family Fun NIGHTS are held throughout the year (Movie Nights, BINGO, etc)
  • Field Day (spring) - Volunteers needed to support staff to help kids through each station and staff the water table)

3. Teacher, Staff & Bus Driver Appreciation - Do you think your child's teacher is awesome?Do you want your bus driver to know that you appreciate them?  Would you like staff at the school to know that they are essential to making it al work? The PTO encourages all parents, students and the wider community to recognize the important contributions, both personal and professional, of teachers, bus drivers and school staff to the lives of children and their education. We want to let them know that they are appreciated!  There is a week in May where special appreciations events etc. happen at the schools!  We also appreciate the staff in various ways throughout the year.  We need a LOT of help with this week.   Organized by Andrea Boyko futureleadersofghana@yahoo.com and Karen Miller kmiller@cssrpto.org

3. Fundraising - The PTO support essential functions at the school - including supplies and field trips.  We always need help finding funding from various sources including local sponsors, grant awards, parents and caregivers, and any other area or funding that may become available to support our goals for the children. DO you have grant writing or nonprofit experience? Do you enjoy sales or marketing?  This may be the role for you!

  • Restaurant Nights

Volunteer Requirements
