2018-20    Co-President: Emily Bambacus, ebambacus@cssrpto.org

Hello! I’m Emily Bambacus and I’m serving as co-president again for the 2019-20 school year. I have a daughter in first grade and my youngest will be starting K in Fall 2020. I have enjoyed working with the PTO and meeting new families and school staff. Professionally, I am a pediatric and educational audiologist in CT.  During my free time (is there such a thing as a parent?) I enjoy doing arts and crafts and reading. My family also enjoys spending time outside.

2019-21    Co-Secretary: Lyn Girard, lgirard@cssrpto.org
Hi I am Lyn Girard.  I am a reading teacher at Swift River Elementary School.  I have raised my family here in town.  I look forward to working with the PTO.

2019-21    Co-Secretary: Jennifer Harris, jharris@cssrpto.org
Hello! My name is Jen Harris and I’m a Special Education Teacher at Swift River Elementary School. I’ve been working for Belchertown Public Schools since 2006. I have been involved in various committees and events in the community throughout my years in town. I looking forward to serving on the PTO board as co-secretary.

2019-21    Social Media & Communications Manager: Karen Miller, kmiller@cssrpto.org
Hello, My name is Karen Miller.  In 2019, I volunteered to take on a role co-organizing the Teacher, Staff, and Bus Driver Appreciation Week. I really enjoyed getting to know other parents in our community and meeting all the amazing educators and staff during the appreciation luncheons etc.   I was so impressed by how many people were willing to lend a hand to make it a success! I soon saw how my skills could be used at the PTO and I chose to get even more involved.  In my free time I enjoy yoga, reading, music festivals, traveling to new places, and spending time with my family.  The CSSR PTO is a great group of people who really care about our schools and kids.  My greatest hope is that I can help other parents get involved in the PTO by revamping our website and creating new social media channels for fast and efficient communication.  If you have ideas, please contact me!

2019-21    Co-President: Ashley O'Connor, aoconnor@cssrpto.org
My name is Ashley O’Connor, my husband and I moved to town in 2013 and we have been running a business and raising a family here ever since. I started working with the PTO in 2018 when I took on the position of coordinator of the mixed bag fundraiser. I quickly learned that the PTO was a great place to volunteer in the schools. I enjoyed working with the parents and staff during the fundraiser and I look forward to continuing to work together, while helping the schools to assist our kids in their journey.

2018-20    Treasurer: Melissa Preston, mpreston@cssrpto.org
Hi There! My name is Melissa Preston and I’m currently the Treasurer for the CSSR PTO. My son, Lucas, is in first grade this year and for the last year I’ve enjoyed becoming an active member of the PTO. I’ve also volunteered my time at other PTO events such as Open House and  the Ice Cream Social. For this next school year (’19-’20), I look forward to serving as Treasurer again. In addition to being a mom, I am also a Preschool teacher in Springfield. I enjoy bike riding, hiking, and in general being outdoors. If I had more time I would love to pursue other interests such as reading (more than the first chapter) and woodworking.  I’ve enjoyed working as the Treasurer this year and hope to continue that on.
