WELCOME!

This site was designed to keep you current with all our happenings.  Please check back often!

This page contains our Events & Programs PAST, PRESENT, & FUTURE (as they are planned)! While browsing this page you may notice that we have been fortunate to have many wonderful sponsors offer their financial support to the children and our schools.  Many have donated repeatedly. From the smallest to the largest business that sells their goods or services within our community,  there are  many that we consider  "local hero's".  These business owners and sponsors contribute endlessly to our organization and many others in town, especially to services and programs that benefit our children and our senior's.  Please try and patronize the businesses that so willingly give back to the community they do business in!

Pennies 4 Playground Campaign, Apr 2007 - Ongoing
To include and promote the children's involvement in the Playground Project, a Pennies 4 Playground Campaign was sent to each classroom in Swift River and Cold Spring School.  What a response! Children were loving it! Some even brought in their piggy banks to empty into the collection jugs!  In the first three weeks alone over $2,600 was collected! The 1st class from each grade level who filled their jugs will be invited to be the first children to play on the new equipment!  And EVERY Child, all 950, will receive a special Popsicle treat at their school field day in June as thanks for all their donations!

Thank you to Andrea Lyons for all your efforts in single-handedly spearheading the campaign! Also Thank You to Carey Douglas for the concept and desire to include the children!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to all the children and their families who participated!!

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, May 7- 11, 2007
This year, to honor the hard work and dedication of 155 educators and support staff at both Cold Spring and Swift River schools, we had an entire week of surprises!  Each day of the week  one special treat, such as handmade chocolates; individual packets of Green Mountain Coffee; popcorn; and more, were waiting in the mailbox of each staff member! In addition, each day there was a prize, such as a Spa gift certificate,  raffled off to one lucky recipient at each school! The staff also enjoyed a fabulous deli style luncheon where they were able to gather, chat, and relax amongst themselves.  Visit our "share your comments" page to see some of the thanks yous from the staff.

A great big Thank You to Kenzie Rhodes, Stacy Troy, Jen Torna, Wendy Laramee, and Dawn French from the CSSRPTO Teacher and Staff Appreciation committee for putting together such a great week of appreciation to show our children educators that we are thankful for all they do!

We would also like to offer a THANK YOU to all of the parents and caregivers who donated paper goods, snack foods, desserts, luncheon items, decorations, and more. Once again, this event would not have been possible with their support or the support of our sponsors listed below!

Trevor “The Games Man” was on hand to entertain children and their families with his amazing stilt walking, cooperative games, and parachutes games for all ages! Trevor performed his uproariously funny show “Giants & Giraffes, Dragons & Detectives”. This show included a wide variety of tricks and skills using an unusual array of toys and equipment, animal impressions to guess, minute mysteries to solve, and plenty of serious to silly “everybody wins” games, and non-stop audience participation from beginning to end! After the show, children were able to enjoy fresh popped popcorn, juice, and water to get their energy back to enjoy  the Bounce house!

Family Fun Event
Valentine Sweetheart Dance, Feb 16,2007
What a great time that as had by all!  Children and their families danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Stephan Warren in between playing super fun games like limbo, conga line, balloon passing with no hands, musical chairs, guessing games, and dress up with some crazy costumes and props! When we needed energy we stopped by the snack table for sweets and treats.  The children had so much fun that at the end of the night they tried to barricade DJ Stephan from leaving - calling out one more song!

A Huge Thank You to  DJ Stephan Warren of The Party Zone and to Stop & Shop for the snacks!

Scrips Gift Card Fundraiser Nov 2006 - Jan 2007
What a great way to raise funds for our schools. Gift Cards from all types of national chain, specialty, and grocery stores and were purchased at their FULL FACE VALUE and then a portion of the purchase price was donated to the CSSRPTO from the issuer of the Gift Card.  This resulted in over $2,300 for the PTO to disburse to the children through the classroom supplies, enrichment programs, and special projects!  Thank you to Jen Torna and Stacy Troy for all of their hard work to organize and implement this program.

Thank You to all who participated in this program!
